There are over 20,000 species of bees in the world, most of which are solitary bees that don’t make honey, but are excellent pollinators. Learn more about California’s native bees as you make native bee nest sites to put up in your own backyard and outdoor places. These native bee nest sites are great projects for outdoor ecologists and important tools for native bee conservation. Bring some materials to repurpose and leave with a native bee nest site and the know-how to monitor and maintain it as a safe home for the native bees in your backyard. Family friendly event, all welcome.
