May 20th is Beekeeper Day!

Discover the art of crafting natural beeswax-based products in our guided workshop. Participants have the choice of making healing balms, lip balms, and other personalized items for their own use. Dive deeper into the history, uses, and science behind beeswax production as part of this enriching experience.

Too often, we encounter barriers in our classrooms that prevent us from engaging in hands-on scientific experiences. From lack of time, to lack of resources, let’s take time to think critically about how to circumvent those barriers and bring the natural world directly into the hands of our students!

Un-bee-lievable Bee Build with Dr. J - Students engineer their own native bee nests using found objects, straws and other natural materials.

Stewardship Awards Ceremony - This stewardship project will wrap up with an end-of-the-year ceremony where students gather together and display their findings in their own special way.

Entomology House Call - Dr. J. checks in with students about their progress at the halfway point for data collection, bee (and wasp) identification, and Q&A.
