Swarming to the Finish Line!

And they're off! Can you spot our Program Director in the crowd?

And they're off! Can you spot our Program Director in the crowd?

This Saturday, Team Planet Bee ran in the Marin Human Race! (It's not too late to donate!)

It was the first 5K for all three of our runners, and we think they did a fabulous job. All three finished the whole race, running the entire way -- go Team PB!

The event's fair was bustling with non-profits from all around the Bay Area, and we were so happy and proud to be a part of it. No Planet Bee booth would be complete without our observation hive, including all three types of bee (the workers, drones, and yes -- the queen came with us too). Marin Human Race visitors were able to see the hive in action -- workers cleaning cells, feeding larvae, and building comb; drones droning (aka - doing nothing); the queen laying eggs. She laid all day, constantly attended by her daughters. She was the "bee of the ball," you could say -- luckily, we had magnifying glasses galore, so everyone got a chance to see her up close and personal.

Thanks for all of the support! See you next year!

Thank you to everyone that came out to support us! We saw many familiar faces on Saturday, as well as met  many new ones -- we bee building community! We had a wonderful time and will be back next year for sure!

Now that our race is done, we're focusing on our Backyard Beekeeping workshops -- the next ones are this weekend: Saturday in San Jose, CA (10:30 AM at the Campbell store) and Santa Cruz, CA (2:00 PM) and Sunday in Oakland, CA (10:30 AM) and Sacramento (4:00 PM). We hope to see you there!
