Seed Ball Stewardship Grant Application (2027)
Support pollinators and bring environmental STEM learning to community! This need-based rolling grant announces awardees 2 weeks until funding runs out.
About the Grant
Our Stewardship Grant Program provides schools, nonprofits, and community groups with seed ball materials: soil, clay, and region-specific wildflower seeds to create pollinator-friendly habitats. Grant recipients will also receive access to our Environmental STEM Programs, including Live Virtual Lessons and NGSS-aligned curriculum for K-12 classrooms!
The Seed Ball Grant is sponsored by Planet Bee Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to educating and inspiring the next generation of environmental stewards through hands-on environmental STEM education. Planet Bee’s mission is to deepen understanding of pollinators, ecosystems, and biodiversity while empowering communities to take meaningful action for environmental health.
This grant is offered in partnership with Renee’s Garden, a seed company committed to providing high-quality flower, herb, and vegetable seeds that support biodiversity and pollinators. Renee’s Garden promotes environmentally responsible gardening and shares a passion for making gardening accessible, educational, and impactful.
Together, Planet Bee Foundation and Renee’s Garden support seed ball projects that combine learning with action, helping students and communities restore pollinator habitat, strengthen local ecosystems, and contribute to a more sustainable future.
What Are Seed Balls?
Seed balls are a simple, effective way to plant pollinator-friendly flowers without tilling or digging. They’re made by combining seeds, clay, and soil into compact balls that can be easily dispersed. By planting seed balls, you’re creating food sources and habitats to support bees and other pollinators, addressing habitat loss due to urbanization and modern agricultural practices.
