Apply for a bee-friendly grant for schools and backyard beekeepers!

GRANTS FOR SCHOOLS AND YOUTH GROUPS

We offer Bee-Friendly Grants for schools fostering environmental stewardship through hands-on projects that create sustainable bee habitats. These grants include Seed Ball Stewardship Kit Grants, Native Bee Nest Home Grants to support our School Community Science Project, and Beeyond HarvestED Materials Grants to complement our Digital Tool Kits.

 

GRANTS FOR BACKYARD BEEKEEPERS 

Additionally, we provide grants for backyard beekeepers to enhance local biodiversity and promote healthy bee colonies.

SEED BALL STEWARDSHIP GRANT KIT

THIS GRANT IS OPEN!

Join the global movement to protect pollinators with our unique Stewardship Grant Program! Your school will receive seed ball materials—complete with noninvasive seeds, clay, and soil—to create essential food sources for bees and other pollinators. Additionally, you'll gain access to our engaging Asynchronous and Synchronous STEM Lessons, designed to enrich student learning and inspire environmental stewardship.

Beeyond HarvestED Materials Grant offers a classroom supply kit to accompany our free, comprehensive Beeyond HarvestED STEM Digital Toolkit, which consists of five units and features engaging videos, interdisciplinary activities, collaborative projects, and whole-group lessons. Covered topics include food waste, soil health, sustainable food production, pollinator impact, and more. All lessons align with NGSS.

Planet Bee is proud to partner with Farnell to offer the Bee A Hero Grant to backyard beekeepers and community organizations. Together, Farnell and Planet Bee are building a green-minded generation by bringing communities together through the wonder of bees and beekeeping in North America. Through their Helping Bees, People, and the Planet Initiative, Farnell will award mini-grants ranging from $500 - $1,000.

Planet Bee is proud to partner with The GIANT Company to offer the 2023 Healing Our Planet Beekeepers in Need Grant Program. They are committed to the health of the planet and local communities by supporting local beekeepers, as bees play a crucial role in pollinating the food brought to the family table each day. The GIANT Company will award up to $2,000 in grants to beekeepers in need.

PENNSYLVANIA BEE MENTORSHIP GRANT

PENNSYLVANIA BEE MENTORSHIP GRANT

Learn how to keep bees from an expert in your area! The PA Honey Path, sponsored by Planet Bee and the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture, will pair experienced beekeeping mentors with eager mentees. Mentees will receive in-person training and guidance from mentors for one beekeeping season. The Sustainable Honey Path is a two-year-long apprenticeship program, starting Spring 2024.

CA HEALTHY POLLINATOR HABITAT GRANT

The Pollinator Habitat Program Grant Supports Local Farmers and Ranchers

The Pollinator Habitat Program (PHP), funded by a grant from the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) and administered by Planet Bee Foundation, partners with local farms and community gardens. This initiative provides funding to establish pollinator-friendly plants and offers an educational program to help participants support native bee populations and other pollinators on their farms.
