Christina is a science educator with eight years of experience teaching middle and high school students in both traditional and virtual classrooms across three states. She is passionate about making science engaging and accessible, especially for students who may not initially see themselves as “science people.”

While in college, Christina worked in a bumblebee research lab studying the immune response of bumblebees to Crithidia, a common bumblebee parasite. Her work included collecting queen bumblebees from the wild and bringing them back to the lab, where she helped raise and maintain their colonies. She cared for the bees, provided food, and even helped mate queens and males to establish new colonies the following spring.

Christina loves hands-on, curiosity-driven science and believes some of the best learning happens when learners get to experience science rather than simply read about it. She is excited to bring together two important parts of her background—science education and bumblebee research—as a consultant with Planet Bee Foundation.
