Kim Chan

Corporate & Education Programs Coordinator

(she/her)

Kim is a proud Bay Area native who grew up in San Francisco and now calls SSF home, where she lives with her husband and two children. She earned a B.S. in Landscape Architecture from UC Davis and a Master of Urban Design from CCNY, and is a licensed landscape architect in California.

Throughout her career, she has worked with a variety of Landscape Architecture firms in both CA and NY, shaping outdoor spaces that connect people with the environment. More recently, she has brought her creative and strategic skills to marketing within the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) industry and is excited to transition to her new role as the Corporate & Education Programs Coordinator to support the Planet Bee mission.

When she’s not working, you’ll likely find Kim tending to her garden, exploring national parks, trying to keep up with her two kids or working on a house project with her husband. An environmentalist at heart, she is thrilled to support the Planet Bee team in spreading awareness about the vital role bees play in our ecosystems and inspiring others to embrace conservation.

What do you love about bees?

I love how essential bees are to pollination and the health of our environment, and how they seem to enjoy flowers just as much as I do. I'm especially charmed by seeing one napping inside a poppy after a busy day of buzzing from bloom to bloom.

If I wasn't so good at my job I would be...

I would be a landscape photographer, documenting the best hikes and landscapes in various national parks throughout the world.
