On-Call Program Educator

Planet Bee Foundation is seeking engaging, polished, and reliable facilitators to support corporate programs across the Philadelphia, Washington DC, and New York City regions. This is an on-call, event-based role focused on delivering high-quality, hands-on educational workshops in professional, client-facing environments.
Programs may include native bee home building, seed ball workshops, honey tastings, and pollinator education experiences. Educators are responsible for creating engaging, interactive experiences for adult audiences while representing Planet Bee Foundation with professionalism and enthusiasm.
Training, materials, and curriculum will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
Facilitate hands-on workshops and guide participants through interactive activities
Deliver core pollinator, biodiversity, and sustainability education using provided curriculum
Create a high-energy, welcoming, and engaging environment for adult participants
Adapt facilitation style to diverse audiences, including corporate professionals
Arrive on time and support event setup and breakdown (typically 60–90 minutes total)
Communicate with Planet Bee staff in advance of events to confirm readiness
Maintain organization, cleanliness, and professionalism at event sites
Follow safety protocols, especially when working with food-based materials or live elements (if applicable)
Represent Planet Bee Foundation as a polished, client-facing educator
Qualifications
Experience in education, facilitation, public speaking, or event engagement preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage adult audiences
Interest in environmental education, sustainability, or conservation
Comfortable working in professional, corporate environments
Highly reliable, punctual, and responsive to communication
Ability to lift and transport materials up to approximately 25–30 pounds
Reliable transportation within your regional service area
Availability for weekday daytime events, with occasional flexibility for evenings or weekends
Preferred But Not Required
Experience with experiential learning, workshops, or informal education
Background in beekeeping, environmental science, biology, or sustainability
Event or hospitality experience
Compensation
Per-event stipend or hourly rate based on regional market rates and experience
Compensation includes preparation, facilitation, setup, breakdown, and travel time
Additional administrative or coordination work may be compensated separately
Paid training and shadowing required prior to leading events independently
Work Structure
Independent contractor role
Event-based, on-call scheduling
No guaranteed minimum hours
Physical & Travel Requirements
Valid driver’s license
Reliable personal transportation with ability to transport program materials
Ability to stand, walk, reach, and remain active for the duration of events
Ability to lift and carry materials up to approximately 30 pounds
Occasional weekend availability may be required based on event needs
