Join Planet Bee Foundation's Annual Fundraiser by donating a Native Bee Nest Home to a K-12 classroom across the US! Just $100 helps support native pollinators and give hands-on STEM education to K-12 students.
WHY THIS MATTERS
Native solitary bees (not just honeybees) are crucial pollinators, yet their habitats are shrinking. Across North America, more than half of native bee species are in decline due to habitat loss, pesticide exposure, and climate change, disrupting the timing between bees and the plants they depend on. Many native bees are solitary ground or cavity nesters that rely on diverse native flora and natural nesting sites, both of which are disappearing in urban and agricultural landscapes.

Recent research by Dr. Kit Prendergast highlights that providing native bee homes can significantly boost native bee nesting and foraging in fire-impacted landscapes, making them a valuable tool for climate-resilient habitat restoration. This evidence underscores the impact of Planet Bee’s Native Bee Community Science Project, which invites participants to take action by building or hosting nest homes, observing and recording bee activity, and contributing valuable data to real‐world research.
EMPOWER A STUDENT & SUPPORT BEE CONSERVATION
With just $100, you can help students and bees thrive. Here’s how:
Each home will:

Be donated to a local school or community organization
Serve as a learning tool for students: they install and monitor the bees, collect observations, and participate in a community‐science project
Provide habitat for 320 native bees and fund STEM lessons for 5 students
How it works
Donate $100 per Native Bee Home
The home will be matched with a school or community-based organization in need
You’ll receive a thank-you certificate for your generous donation! Makes a great holiday gift for yourself or nature lovers in your life.
WHY THIS FUNDRAISER IS DIFFERENT
It’s action-oriented: you are directly supporting native bee conservation
It links students with real science: they’ll participate in monitoring, data collection, and stewardship rather than passively learning.
It emphasizes environmental education and increases biodiversity
Every contribution has a double impact: supporting STEM programs and supporting native pollinators!
